INSPECTION (INSPECTION TECHNIQUES – 80 HOUR COURSE)
Course Description:
This course is designed for those in the industry with no Inspection background and is interested in learning the skills to perform fundamental inspection techniques. Emphasizing on third angle projection and blueprints and applying basic concepts of inspection techniques utilizing basic inspection tools and equipment, such as indicators, micrometers, optical comparator, height gages, surface plates, and portable articulating Romer arm. In addition, students will enhance their level of GD&T, and apply quality system standards.
The course is designed for individuals who have no inspection experience and is centered on the following integrated areas:
Course Competencies:
Blueprint reading for the Inspection process.
Identify the safety needs and the importance of quality control.
Basic Maintenance of Precision Measuring Equipment (PME).
Shop application of inspection tools and measuring concepts.
Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing: (GD&T). Interpret and apply geometric properties and relationships.
Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing: (GD&T). Interpret and calculate the variation in form fit, and function utilizing the ANSI standard.
Apply directed strategies integrating the above concepts by applying all techniques utilized in the course to the shop, using: the surface plate, and optical comparator.
Apply Quality System Standards and inspection reports.
