Trio Manufacturing was founded in 1943 with manufacturing a groundbreaking mechanical countersink gauge. Trio continues to manufacture this gauge and has become the gold standard for fastener-related measurement by all the world’s leading commercial, military aircraft, and space companies. The same Aerospace Prime Contractors that relied on these gauges were now reaching out to Trio to manufacture complex, close-tolerance parts. One job led to another, and Trio quickly built a name as a first-rate supplier of close tolerance parts. In 1995 Trio launched its contract manufacturing division to support the burgeoning Southern California aerospace industry.
In 1994, The current owners Michael, Brian, and Glen Hunkins embarked on a major expansion that resulted in the acquisition of state-of-the-art machinery and a growing force of skilled specialists to program and operate it.
In 1997, Trio focused on the precision aerospace machine work and elected a 40,000-square-foot facility in the heart of the Southern California Aerospace industry, El Segundo, CA. Trio is still making considerable investments in the latest machine tool technology, as evidenced by the opening of our high production wing. It features multiple palletized and multi-access machining centers for lights-out production of entire part families. Our commitment to upholding the high standard set by our founder has not wavered, and we look forward to the next chapter in our illustrious history.
The industry demands specialized individuals to not only operate, but to program our machines. NTMA and its program have been a point of reference for Trio and have made the dream of a lot of teammates to excel in their careers attainable by working with their work schedules with the after-hours classes that they offer.
